So basically, my brain shuts down when I'm under pressure.
Miss an entrance to a scene? Yea, expect my diction to be gone.
Don't get the first problem on a math test? Most likely won't get any after that, either.
I was taking the bus, and didn't have a nifty Charlie card with me. I had a ton of old tickets with me, so I thought I could just use those all up. Sadly, though, one can only use one ticket per ride.
I did not know this.
I put mine in, to find it had 50c on it. So, I had to scrape up an extra $3.
But of course, I got pressured.
So, I put the first dollar bill in the ticket slot. Or tried to.
The driver, taking pity on me, put it in the dollar bill slot.
Okay, I thought, let's do better.
I put the next one in...the ticket slot.
Oh dear lord. Buy the third time, the driver chuckled a bit at me.
"You're doing pretty good, here."
I think I'll stick to walking from now on.

I tend to fold under pressure.

My CharlieCard stopped working a few days ago, so now I have to use tickets. And yesterday, still not used to my new (and more expensive) method, I put the ticket in the dollar bill slot. And then I left. Soon I heard the driver shouting "hello?... hello? " Of course, she was saying hello to me. So I went back and put my ticket through the ticket slot. How awkward.
Student CharlieCards stopped working, I guess. You can get a regular one? Or use tickets.
A few days ago I was using the T for the first time in a long time, so I'm not very experienced. I watched as a person walked up to the thingy and tapped their Charlie Card on the black square, and went through. The next person tapped their Charlie Card on the black square, and went through. I walk up, tap my ticket on the black square, and nothing happens. "Put it in the ticket slot" the person says. oh, right, how dumb, I think to myself as I try to stick it in upside down. "The other side up" the man says. I put it in the right way up and go through. I think at this point we have enough evidence to say that for whatever reason, Charlie Cards are much easier to use than the tickets.
*grin* I started using tickets before cards, so I am better at tickets. Cards I actually mess up sometimes, but they are easier/soo much less expensive.
